Hershey Foods Issues Nationwide Allergy Alert for Undeclared Egg Whites in a Limited Number of Cadbury's Eggs Variety 18-pack

HERSHEY, Pa. - Hershey Foods Corporation today issued an alert that egg whites were inadvertently omitted from the ingredient statement on the outside packaging of a limited number of Cadbury's Eggs variety 18-pack (net weight 24.66 ounces). Individually wrapped Cadbury's Creme Eggs inside the package are properly labeled. This alert involves product distributed nationwide prior to February 1, 2000. Product currently in distribution has been relabeled with the correct ingredient statement.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. No allergic reactions have been reported to date. Consumers who are not allergic to eggs can continue to safely consume this product.

No other Cadbury's Creme Eggs or Cadbury's Mini Creme Eggs products are affected.

Cadbury's Eggs Variety 18-pack contain 12 Cadbury"s Creme Eggs, three Cadbury's Chocolate Creme Eggs and three Cadbury's Caramel Eggs. Only Cadbury's Creme Eggs in the Variety 18-pack contain egg whites. The Chocolate Creme Eggs and Caramel Eggs do not contain egg whites.
