Spain Joins GLOBE!
On May 5, 1998, the Spanish Minister of Education, Esperanza Aguirre, and the United States Charge D'Affaires, A.I. Lawrence G. Rossin, signed the GLOBE agreement, making Spain the 69th GLOBE Country. The agreement was signed in the presence of a large crowd of officials and the press in Madrid, the capital city.Spain is planning for two dozen schools to begin GLOBE activities in the fall of 1998, and hopes to expand to many more schools soon after. GLOBE welcomes the students and teachers of Spain!
