NCTR:  Impact on Arkansas

The NCTR definitely strengthens the local and state economy.  The Center is located in the south central area of the state, in Jefferson County in Jefferson, Arkansas.  NCTR draws 511 high tech and support staff employees from the Pulaski (156) and Jefferson (278) counties alone and has an estimated $27,042,000 in salaries.  With its congressional appropriations of $40 million plus and outside funding of over $10 million, it is a boon to this rural state.
