GLOBE Welcomes Portuguese Schools!
GLOBE is pleased to welcome Portugal as a partner in the GLOBE Program. On Wednesday, October 23, Professor Eduardo Marcal Grilo, Minister of Education, and Professor Elisa Maria Ferreira, Minister of the Environment, are signing the GLOBE Agreement with U.S. Ambassador Elizabeth Frawley Bagley at Porre do Tombo, the auditorium of the Portuguese National Archive. The GLOBE agreement is being signed at a conference on the past and future of environmental education. The signing of the GLOBE agreement will be the opening of the conference, and will highlight the future of environmental education in Portugal.
Initially, five Portuguese schools will be selected to participate in GLOBE. We look forward to the involvement of Portuguese students and teachers in GLOBE!
