GLOBE Welcomes British Students!
The GLOBE Program is delighted to welcome the United
Kingdom as its 35th partner country. The GLOBE
agreement was signed today by British Environment
Secretary John Gummer and U.S. Under Secretary of State
for Global Affairs Timothy E. Wirth. The ceremony took
place in New York City at the meeting of the United Nations
Commission on Sustainable Development with representatives
from countries all over the world. Many British schools have already let the GLOBE Office and the United Kingdom Department of the Environment know about their enthusiasm for the program and we look forward to their future participation in GLOBE!
