This introductory course in botany is designed for the non-scientist and specifically for amateur plant enthusiasts. The class includes a brief but comprehensive overview of general botany topics including plant classification, plant structure and function, ecology and plant reproduction. Students will begin to master the terminology associated with botany and plant identification. The class sessions are informal and hands-on, with dissection and examination of fresh and dried plant material. There will be a walk in the garden to observe and identify plants.
