Italy Joins GLOBE Program
GLOBE is delighted to welcome Italy as the 44th GLOBE Partner Country. On January 21, 1997,
Italy's Under Secretary of Education, the Honorable Carla Rocchi, and the Deputy Chief of
Mission of the U.S. Embassy in Rome, James B. Cunningham, signed the GLOBE Agreement.
The signing ceremony took place at the Education Ministry building in Rome's Trastevere
district.The Education Ministry plans to involve schools throughout Italy in GLOBE and to work with Italy's Environment Ministry and National Agency for New Technologies, Energy, and the Environment in implementing the GLOBE Program.
We look forward to the active participation of Italian students in GLOBE.
