- 17th Conference for Shellfish Growers. First convened by Washington Sea Grant in 1991, the conference brings together representative from the shellfish industry, government and academia. To register, see the conference registration form.
- The West Coast Regional Marine Research and Information Needs Report is available for public review through January 16, 2009. The report identifies research and outreach to help the West Coast move toward an ecosystem-based approach to ocean and coastal management. Your input is welcomed.
- The Care and Feeding of Your Septic System. Marine Water Quality Specialist Teri King will present important information about septic systems on Vashon Island on Jan. 29, 2009. Attendees will be eligible to win a $150 discount on a septic tank inspection and pump-out. For more information, see our Calendar of Events.
- The 2009 Washington Sea Grant Calendar is available. Check out the online version and learn about WSG's involvement with different forms of marine life.
- Marine Electrical Wiring Workshop. This one-day workshop, February 21, 2009, at Fishermen's Terminal, Seattle, is designed for boat owners who want to upgrade their electrical systems. For more information, see our Calendar of Events.
- Fellowships. The 2010 Dean John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship, the 2009 Sea Grant/NOAA Fisheries Graduate Fellowship, and the Coastal Management Fellowship are now open. For more information, see our Education homepage.
- 12th Annual Orca Bowl. Washington’s regional high-school competition in the National Ocean Sciences Bowl will take place Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, on the University of Washington campus in Seattle.
