Corlista Hardman As budding archaeologists, students at Orchard Elementary in Cleveland, OH are using knowledge gained from their GLOBE science activities to help in analyzing artifacts! This is just one of the many exciting ways in which GLOBE Teacher Corlista Hardman engages students in hands-on science. In recognition of her efforts, Ms. Hardman's has received a 1997 Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.

GLOBE Star In the classroom, Mrs. Hardman works with grades K-5, helping them exercise critical thinking skills and learn to make accurate observations. She has also conducted numerous in-service courses, including a hands-on workshop for administrators and parents on the GLOBE Program.

Corlista has served in leadership roles with many important organizations, including the Cleveland Education Fund, the National Council of Negro Women, and Cleveland State University. At Orchard Elementary, she chairs the Science Olympiad and serves on the committee for math and science textbook selection. Congratulations to Ms. Hardman for this much-deserved honor.
