Please be aware, that other land management agencies including state, local or conservancy, may also be conducting prescribed fire operations during this period. The following prescribed fire projects are designed to reduce wildfire risks to communities and critical resources. Smoke management is part of every prescribed fire burn plan, and efforts will be taken to reduce actual or potential smoke impacts on community areas. Approved for 01/06/09Tuesday, January 6, South Lake Tahoe, CA. --US Forest Service crews will be conducting Prescribed Fire (Rx) operations in the Glenbrook area (38 acres) beginning Tuesday, January 6 and continuing throughout the week. Approved for 12/16/08Tuesday, December 16, South Lake Tahoe, CA. --US Forest Service crews will be conducting Prescribed Fire (Rx) operations in the Logan Creek Area (2-5 acres) and Meeks Bay area (195 acres) beginning on Tuesday, December 16, 2008. View east shore map Approved for 12/12/08Friday, December 12, South Lake Tahoe, CA. --US Forest Service crews will be conducting Prescribed Fire (Rx) operations in the High Meadows Area (41 acres) and Angora area (1 acre) beginning on Saturday 12/13/2008. On Sunday crews expect to be continuing Rx operations in the McKinney Bay area.
