GLOBE students at LeRosen Elementary and their teacher, Ms. Jewel West, have been working hard to spread the word about GLOBE throughout Louisianna. Last fall, Ms. West made a presentation to the Lafayette Parish School Board, which was covered by the local media. In March, she gave an online demonstration of GLOBE at the University of Southwestern Louisiana and Bell South Conference on telecommunications and education.

In celebration of Earth Day 1996, GLOBE students at the LeRosen Gifted and Talented Center invited parents, friends, school board members and the media to a special program called "Rain Forest Research". The students, pictured here, created paper sculptures of rainforest plants and animals and made rainsticks. These young GLOBE scientists will be graduating from fifth grade and attending Paul Breaux Middle School next year - also a GLOBE school!
