GLOBE Spans Seven Continents

During a recent summit with Argentine President Carlos Menem, U.S. President Bill Clinton announced that an Argentine school located in Antarctica would be joining the GLOBE Program. GLOBE schools are now on all seven continents!

GLOBE students from Escuela Provinicial No. 39, an Argentine school located on the Esperanza base in Antarctica, will soon begin reporting GLOBE data. About twenty elementary and secondary students attend the school, which is located at latitude 63 degrees, 24 minutes south, and longitude 56 degrees, 59 minutes west.

These students should provide some very interesting reports for research by GLOBE students and scientists. We welcome the students and teachers from Esperanza!
