New Zealand Joins GLOBE!
On February 29, 2000, New Zealand Minister of Education Trevor Mallard joins U.S. Ambassador Carol Moseley Braun in a special ceremony to initiate the participation of New Zealand in GLOBE. 
Dignitaries from the two governments will gather at Hutt Intermediate School, a school noted for its leadership in environmental studies and classroom use of the Internet.
After dignitaries discuss the contributions which New Zealand students will be making to international scientific research through GLOBE, the students will give a tour of their computer lab and discuss current educational programs over morning tea. Representatives from the Ministry for the Environment, the Ministry of Research, Science and Technology, and the Royal Society of New Zealand will also attend this event.
