Chile Joins GLOBE!
On Thursday, April 16, 1998, Chile became a GLOBE Partner Country. Chilean Minister of Education Jose Pablo Arellano Marin and U.S. Secretary of Commerce William Daley signed the GLOBE agreement in Santiago, the capital city of Chile. The signing took place in conjunction with U.S. President Bill Clinton's visit to Chile for the Summit of the Americas. Schools will begin GLOBE activities in the cities of Valdivia and Santiago. GLOBE welcomes Chile to the program and looks forward to their active participation!
