South Africa to Join GLOBE Program!
U.S. Vice President Al Gore and South African Deputy President Thabo Mbeki met at the White House in Washington, D.C. on July 23, 1996. While reviewing scientific and other cooperative efforts between the U.S. and South Africa, they signed a Declaration of Intent that South Africa will soon participate in the GLOBE Program. GLOBE is very excited about this important step forward. We are looking forward to working with the teachers and students of South Africa.
