Dutch Officials Join International Workshop Closing Ceremonies
Dutch Secretary General for the Environment Mr. Hans A.P.M. Pont and officials from the Ministries of the Environment, Education, and Agriculture joined participants of the GLOBE International Workshop on September 27, 1996 for the closing ceremonies. Mr. Pont joined the workshop participants in taking the GLOBE hydrology measurements and entering data into the GLOBE Student Data Server. The Ministry officials also looked at GLOBE images on the Web developed from a variety of student measurements.
Mr. Pont congratulated the international participants for their successful completion of the workshop, which attracted representatives from eleven
countries. Additional congratulatory remarks were made by Mr. Frits J. Hesselink, Director of SME MilieuAdviseurs/Institute for Environmental Communication, Mr. Martin Bosch, Dutch GLOBE Country Coordinator, and Ms. Lyn Wigbels, GLOBE Assistant Director for International Programs. Mr. Pont joined Ms. Wigbels in presenting the graduates with certificates which certify them as GLOBE trainers.
