It took 74 years for George Wireman’s dream to come true.
“It started when I was about 12 or 13 years old,” he said. “I was given an electric train for Christmas. When we put the tree up, it wasn’t complete without the train underneath.”
Christine Van Bloem of The Kitchen Studio in Frederick is all-American. Yet, like many Americans, she loves sushi — and she’s not afraid to make it. Her enthusiasm for maki sushi — the rolled sort of sushi with seaweed and sticky rice — is apparent to anybody who signs up for her Sushi 101 classes.
