Press Release # 99-153

Transcript

(Adult surrounded be children playing with toy) The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (little girl putting carrot-shaped microphone in her mouth) and Tiger Electronics Limited of Vernon Hills, Illinois (little boy playing with toy and with the carrot-shaped microphone up to his mouth) are voluntarily recalling to replace approximately (top view of toy) 202,000 Pooh Poppin' Piano toys. (view of toy with carrot-shaped microphone in it's place) The green "leafy" top (microphone being taken out of slot and the green section being taken off and shown) section of the carrot-shaped microphone attached to the piano toy can break off, posing a choking hazard (child and adult playing with toy) to young children.

(Adult playing with three children) Tiger has received three reports of the leafy top of the microphone breaking off. There are no reports of (close-up of toy, child pressing keys and characters bopping up and down) injuries. The piano toy is mostly lime-green with eight "Winnie the Pooh" characters that move up and down as the child presses on corresponding piano keys. (child playing with toy and with microphone at to the mouth) The orange and green microphone attaches to the piano with a short cord that amplifies sound. (view of toy) The toy announces eight color names and plays piano sounds and eight pre-programmed children's songs.

(Adult opening battery compartment of toy and taking out batteries, numbers shown on screen) Only products with serial numbers starting with "WT" or "CO15D" are part of this replacement program. (close-up of batteries being taken out) (close-up of serial number label inside battery compartment) The serial number is printed in two places, on a small label located inside the battery compartment (view of product inside box) and on the (close-up of bottom of box) bottom of the (close-up of green serial number label) retail package.
