Acting Chairman Nancy Nord: “While many American’s will enjoy the safe and legal use of fireworks, there will be those treated in hospital emergency rooms for using firework incorrectly or illegally.”

Acting Chairman Nancy Nord: “Never purchase illegal fireworks or professional fireworks meant to be used at a professional display. Illegal explosives, such as M-80’s, cherry bombs, silver salutes, quarter sticks and M-1000’s are banned and have been for more than 40 years.“

Acting Chairman Nancy Nord: “Last year an estimated 9,200 people were treated in hospital emergency rooms for firework-related injuries. The majority, 6,400, occurred during the one-month period surrounding the 4th of July."
