List of Serials Indexed for Online Users

The List of Serials Indexed for Online Users (LSIOU) provides bibliographic information for all journals ever indexed over time for MEDLINE^®. It includes titles that ceased publication, changed titles, or were deselected. More detailed bibliographic data and information about indexing coverage for serials cited in MEDLINE/PubMed^® can be found in LocatorPlus^®, NLM's online catalog, at http://locatorplus.gov.

The 2008 edition contains 13,014 serial titles, including 5,246 titles currently indexed for MEDLINE, cited alphabetically by abbreviated title followed by full title.

The List of Serials Indexed for Online Users is available free in both Portable Document Format (PDF) and eXtensible Markup Language (XML) format.

Use of the data is permitted after reading Terms and Conditions (includes the links to the DTD and the data).

Journals Recently Accepted by NLM for Inclusion in MEDLINE lists titles selected by LSTRC since the most recent version of the List of Journals Indexed for MEDLINE.

The List of Journals Indexed for MEDLINE lists the 5,246 journals being currently indexed for MEDLINE as of January 2008, in four sections: (1) Alphabetic listing by abbreviated title, followed by full title; (2) Alphabetic listing by full title, followed by abbreviated title; (3) Alphabetic listing by subject field; and (4) Alphabetic listing by country of publication.
