San Francisco Regional Director




LINDA MARIE MARMOLEJO

Ms. Marmolejo was appointed to the position of Regional Director of the San Francisco National Enterprise Center (SFNEC) in November of 2003. Her tenure with the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) began in 1978 when she was appointed as District Officer for the San Francisco District Office. Ms. Marmolejo has served MBDA through a variety of positions, leaving the Agency to serve with the Small Business Administration for a three year period. In that capacity, she was Chief of the Division of Program Certification and Eligibility overseeing the administration of the 8(a) program application process for the Western continental United States including Alaska, Hawaii and the Trust Territories. Most recently, she was the Deputy Regional Director for the SFNEC for the past 10 years.

Ms. Marmolejo began federal service in 1975 as a federal investigator for the U.S. Department of HUD before transferring to MBDA. She has over 30 years of experience in the area of economic development in both the private and public sector. While residing in Washington D.C. in the 1960's and 1970's, she taught at Catholic University and later joined a young group that established the first Hispanic Consulting Firm in the country which successfully established 9 offices throughout the nation.

Ms. Marmolejo is a native of East Los Angeles. She completed her junior year at the Universidad Autónoma de Mexico in Mexico City and graduated from California State University at Los Angeles with a degree in Foreign Language and International Relations. Upon graduation, she joined the Peace Corp and was in the first group invited to serve in Puerto Rico and Venezuela. She has held memberships in MALDEF, LULAC, IMAGE, NCLR and the American GI Forum and has served on the Boards of several community organizations. In addition to her professional accomplishments in the public sector, Ms. Marmolejo has managed to obtain a California Real Estate license, a Series 7 Securities/Stockbroker's license, a Variable license and an Insurance license when she established a business as a personal Financial Planner. She has been granted several awards and commendations during her tenure with MBDA.
