Jane
A. Walters
Jane Walters is the Regional Director of the Region IV – Austin office. As Regional
Director, Walters is responsible for the oversight of the
chartering program for federal credit unions and the examination
and supervision programs for all federally insured credit
unions in Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota,
Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota,
Texas and Wisconsin.
Walters began her career with NCUA in 1981 as an examiner in Cleveland, Ohio
and Chicago, Ill. She was a problem case officer in two regional
offices prior to becoming the director of special actions
in the Capital region in 1987. Walters was named associate
regional director of the Chicago region in 1990 and in 1994
was named NCUA controller. Walters became director of the
Capital region in June 1995 and was appointed director of
the California region in May 1998. She served as associate
regional director of the Austin office in 2000 and was named
director of that office in May 2001.
Walters received a bachelor’s degree
in accounting from the University of Dayton in 1980 and an
MBA from Loyola University of Chicago in 1984.
