Radiation All Around Us
Radiation is naturally present in our environment, as it has been since before
the birth of this planet. In addition, radiation can
be produced artificially, as in medical x-rays and microwaves for cooking.
The various forms of radiation can be either benefical or harmful, depending on their use and
control. For that reason, regulation of certain radioactive sources is necessary
