GLOBE Stars in Mexico

The GLOBE Program is moving forward in Mexico. In November 1997, Mexico held their first GLOBE Teacher Training Workshop for 38 participants, including 9 teachers from the high schools associated with the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

The workshop was held at the University's Botanical Gardens, the "Ecoguardas" Environmental Education Center and the Xochimilco Ecological Park. These sites provided outstanding settings for carrying out the GLOBE science measurement activities. Twelve environmental experts from UNAM research centers and the Ibero-American University (UIA) assisted in the workshop by addressing each of the areas of GLOBE science.
