Public Consultation Meeting of the Trans-Federal Task Force on Optimizing Biosafety and Biocontainment Oversight

There will be a U.S. Government Public Consultation meeting on December 8th-9th, 2008,  focused on optimizing biosafety and biocontainment oversight.  The meeting will discuss a series of questions on which the USG would specifically like to solicit comment.   These questions concern such matters as the identification of gaps in the current oversight framework and options for improvement, with the overall goals of improving biosafety/biocontainment oversight and protecting public health and agriculture, while simultaneously encouraging the progress of research.
