Applicant Guidelines

NIDDK Program Project (P01) Information
A research program project (P01) award is for the support of a broadly based multidisciplinary or multifaceted research program which has a well-defined major objective or central theme. The program project involves the organized efforts of groups (most often at the same institution) whose members are conducting research designed to elucidate the various aspects or components of the central theme.

Conference Grant Support
Conference Grants are awarded to institutions and organizations to provide partial support for international or domestic meetings, conferences, and workshops to coordinate, exchange, and disseminate research information. Please see PA-06-041. NIDDK is especially interested in conference grants used to cover travel expenses for young and minority investigators.
NIDDK Exploratory Research Grant (R21) Program
The NIDDK R21 grant program provides a mechanism dedicated to the promotion of highly innovative research.
NIDDK Investigator's Guide to Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research
The NIH is implementing a policy permitting Federal funding of research on existing human embryonic stem cell (HESC) lines that fulfill President Bush's eligibility criteria as outlined on the NIH Human Embryonic Stem Cell Registry.
