Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)


  1. I entered the password that you sent to me.  Why am I receiving a message that the password is "expired"?

    Answer:  The password that you received was a "temporary" password.  Please follow the instructions on the screen to create a unique password that you will remember.

  2. I have my password, how do I start taking courses?

    Answer:
    1. After you successfully login, locate the box labeled "I want to..." on the left hand side of the screen.
    2. Click on Knowledge Finder
    3. In the search box, enter "%" and it will list all of the courses or enter a key word such as "food".  You can also enter the course code or title of the course.
    4. Locate a course you are interested in launching and click on the title.
    5. At the bottom of the description box, click on:
      1. PRINT – to print the description of the course; or
      2. LAUNCH – to launch or open the course; or
      3. ADD AS AN ELECTIVE – to add the course to "My To-do" List to launch at a later time.

  3. Where can I find the catalog?

    Answer:  The catalog is now called "Knowledge Finder" and is located under the Knowledge Center tab, on the left hand side of the screen in the box labeled "I want to..."

    Once you click on Knowledge Finder, you will see a search box.  In the search box, enter a "%" and it will list all of the courses or enter a key word such as "food".  You can also enter the course code or title of the course.

  4. Some courses have a token to the right that resembles a sheet of paper. When I launch the course it opens a dialog box with information or questions followed by another box asking for an e-signature. Do I complete the e-signature?

    Answer: The courses with a token to the right that resembles a sheet of paper are called control documents.  Usually the control document will direct you to another site or explain what you need to do to obtain credit for that control document.  You should follow the instructions of the control document and after completing the requirements, return to the control document to sign the e-signature.

  5. There is a red x in the upper left hand corner. Do I need to download a program in addition to the FDA course?

    Answer:  Please download shockwave - http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/alternates/.
    1. Scroll down to the Shockwave section.
    2. Download the Full Shockwave Player

    Also, make sure you are using Internet Explorer.

  6. If I am timed-out while taking an online course (because of my Company/Organization defined timeout period) will I have to retake the entire course

    Answer:  No, if you are timed-out while taking a course, the system will bookmark your progress.  When you return to the course, the system will bring you to the section of the course where you left off.

  7. How do I print my certificate of completion for a course?

    Answer: After you have successfully completed the End-of-Lesson challenge, click Continue.  Your certificate of completion will appear.  The option to print is located on the left hand side of your screen.

    NOTE: If you do not print the certificate at the time of completion, you can obtain a copy of your certificate from the "My History".

  8. How do I view a record of my completed courses?

    Answer:
    1. Locate the box labeled "I want to..." on the left hand side of the screen located under the Knowledge Center tab.
    2. Click on "My History"

  9. Can I print a copy of my history?

    Answer:
    1. Locate the box labeled "I want to..." on the left hand side of the screen located under the Knowledge Center tab.
    2. Click on "My History"
    3. The option to download (as CVS or Excel file) or print is located on the right hand side of the screen.

  10. I have completed a number of courses and I need to show the certificates to my supervisor.  How do I print my certificate of completion for a course?

    Answer:
    1. Locate the box labeled "I want to..." on the left hand side of the screen located under the Knowledge Center tab.
    2. Click on "My History"
    3. Locate your course
    4. In the last column you will see an icon that looks like a bubble with a sheet of paper inside - click on the icon.
    5. Your certificate should appear.
    6. The option to print is located on the left hand side of your screen.

  11. If I complete the Tour of FDA on the FDA website outside of ComplianceWire, does that completion show in ComplianceWire?

    Answer:   No, only courses launched and completed on ComplianceWire are recorded as a completion in ComplianceWire.

  12. I forgot my password, how can obtain my password?

    Answer:  To retrieve your password, please go to the login screen at https://www.compliancewire.com/Secure/logon-cwire.asp and click on "Forgot Password" located to the right of the password box.  Your password will be emailed to you. 

  13. I have not used my account in a few months, should I re-register?

    Answer:  No, you do not need to re-register.  To retrieve your password, click on "Forget Password" next to the password box and your password will be emailed to you.

  14. Is there a reference manual?

    Answer:   Yes.  There is a reference manual located under the Support Tab. Click on "Training Aids".  Use the drop down menu to select the appropriate chapter.  The manual can be sent to your printer for a hard copy.

  15. When I logged into ComplianceWire, there was a course on "My To-Do" List.  How did it appear on my list?
    Answer: There are 2 ways that the course may have appeared on your "My To-do" list.

    1. The course may have been assigned to you by your manager or someone with the appropriate security level.
    2. You may have launched the course.  Until the course is completed, it will appear on your "My To-do" list as an elective.  It will also have a token (to the left of the title) denoting it as being "bookmarked".

  16. I launched a course as an elective and now I would like to remove it from my "My To-do" List. Can I remove it?

    Answer:   Yes
    1. Locate the box labeled "I want to..." on the left hand side of the screen located under the Knowledge Center tab.
    2. Click on "Remove Optional Assignments"
    3. Highlight the course you would like to remove.
    4. Click on Remove at the bottom of the box
    5. Follow the instructions on the next screens.
