Twelve-year-old GLOBE students at the Primarschule Trittenbach in Taegerwilen, Switzerland have been entertaining some important guests recently! On May 7, 1999, U.S. Ambassador Madeleine M. Kunin visited the school, along with other local dignitaries including the Chairman of the School Board, the Mayor, and the Minister of Education for the Kanton Thurgau, Mrs. Vreni Schawalder.

After greeting their guests with a song, the students performed a theatrical show as a way of presenting their GLOBE activities. Under the leadership of GLOBE Teacher Silvia Gysler, the students have already reported over 2,000 atmospheric observations to the GLOBE Student Data Archive. According to the GLOBE Country Coordinator for Switzerland, Mr. Reudi Schleup, the guests were all deeply impressed with the students and their work.

In addition to showing off their knowledge on the Earths environment, the students also enjoyed the opportunity to learn a little about international politics from Ambassador Kunin.
