GLOBE teachers from throughout Sweden gathered in September 1997 to be updated on the new GLOBE Protocols at the Vannarodsskolan school in Sosdala. Three teachers from Ledeskolan and Furulundsskolan, who had taken part in a GLOBE teacher training workshop in Cologne, Germany, this past summer, provided updates on the new GLOBE hydrology and soil protocols. Local experts also assisted by providing information on MUC and cloud formation.

Teachers exchanged their experiences with GLOBE learning activities and discussed how to improve and develop the GLOBE program further. Among the topics addressed in this discussion were: how to increase data quality; how to integrate the GLOBE measurements into a wider environmental perspective; how to involve the whole school in GLOBE; and how to cooperate with other schools. Additional Swedish schools will be invited to join the GLOBE program during 1998.
