GLOBE Students at Saukville Elementary are going the extra mile to ensure consistent data reporting. Rain, snow, or shine, the GLOBE students are coming to school on the weekends and holidays to take their GLOBE measurements. Since May 1995, these young scientists have an almost perfect record for data reporting, having missed less than a handful of days. Assistance from GLOBE students' family members has helped make this possible.

"I commend the students of Saukville Elementary for this outstanding commitment to their science activities," stated GLOBE Director Tom Pyke. "The students are learning first hand about their environment, while also providing data to the science research community which will be valuable for years to come." sauk2.jpg

In recognition of his leadership at Saukville Elementary, GLOBE Teacher Jim Juech was asked to participate on a National Science Foundation panel to review proposals from scientists interested in working with the GLOBE Program. The scientists selected as a result of the process will be help ensure the data quality of the GLOBE science measurements and will use the GLOBE student data in their research.
