Laboratories Under the Office of Pesticide Programs
Highlights:
The Office of Pesticide Programs (OPP) operates four laboratories that provide a variety of technical services to the Agency, other federal and state agencies, tribal groups, and other organizations. The labs assist EPA and State enforcement labs by providing reference standards, analytical methods development, training, and assistance with laboratory audits. They develop analytical methods for risk assessment and enforcement projects; perform chemical and efficacy analyses when needed; and assist in investigations of incidents such as crop damage or illegal pesticide residues. Research is also being conducted to understand how antimicrobial pesticides work at the genetic level.
