  • E Pluribus Unum Prizes
    The Migration Policy Institute's National Center on Immigrant Integration Policy is launching the E Pluribus Unum Prizes program. This new national awards program will provide four $50,000 awards annually to exceptional initiatives that promote immigrant integration. The J.M. Kaplan Fund is generously providing support for these awards in each of the next three years to focus attention on successful integration initiatives, and to inspire and provide program models to others around the United States who might also undertake such efforts. The awards recognize outstanding immigrant integration initiatives of all types, whether led by nonprofit or community organizations, businesses, public agencies, religious groups, or individuals.   • Rescue & Restore Victims of Human Trafficking Regional Program Grant Announcement:
    The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Administration for Children and Families (ACF) has announced a grant opportunity, the “Rescue & Restore Victims of Human Trafficking Regional Program.” Letters of intent are due November 19, 2008 and the applications are due December 22, 2008 .   Building on the work of the HHS Rescue & Restore Victims of Human Trafficking campaign, which began to establish local anti-trafficking coalitions, the HHS/ACF Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) seeks to continue and expand its efforts through regional grantees that will serve as focal points for an intensification of local outreach to and identification of victims of severe forms of trafficking in persons. ORR seeks to award one cooperative agreement per geographic area for a period of two years.   • U.S. Secretary of Labor Announces the Award of $10 million in Grants to Train Workers in the Energy Industry:
    U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao announced the awarding of $10 million to fund 11 projects that will provide potential workers with skills-based job training to enter careers in the energy industry.  More information on this grant award and a list of grantees .
  • Administration for Children and Families Grant Announcements:
    As of 2006, the Administratrion for Children and Families (ACF) no longer publishes grant announcements in the Federal Register. Applicants can find a synopsis of all ACF grant opportunities and apply electronically for opportunities via the Grants.gov web site. Applicants will also be able to find the complete text of all ACF grant announcements on the ACF web site.
