July 30, 1996: Washington, D.C.--Employees who go on leave without pay (LWOP), or those whose pay is insufficient to cover their health insurance premium payments, will have a clear-cut opportunity to continue or cancel their enrollment in the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) Program, under proposed rules being issued by the Office of Personnel Management.

July 9, 1996: Washington, D.C. -- Federal employees covered by a spouse's private health insurance plan would get immediate coverage under the government's insurance program if the spouse, for any reason, loses employment and workplace benefits, according to proposed rules changes published today in the Federal Register.[News Release]
