January 15, 1999: Office of Personnel Management Director Janice R. Lachance will talk to Maine elected officials and college students about quality education, long term care, and the increasingly global economy as a follow up to President Clintons State of the Union Address to be delivered on January 19. Congressman Thomas Allen (D-ME) will be joining Lachance during this event to be held at the Portland Museum of Art on Thursday, January 21, at 1:30 p.m. [News Release]

January 12, 1999: President Clinton today signed a new Executive Order entitled, Using Technology to Improve Training Opportunities for Federal Government Employees. The Executive Order establishes a Task Force on Federal Training Technology to be chaired by Office of Personnel Management Director Janice R. Lachance. It also creates an advisory committee on the use of training technology. [News Release]

January 4, 1999: Office of Personnel Management Director Janice R. Lachance today launched an effort to offer group-rate long-term care insurance to all federal employees and retirees. [News Release]
