February 21, 1997: Five Washington Metro Area Reemployment Centers are now open to offer reemployment services to federal government employees and federal contract workers in the metropolitan area. The five metro offices can help people find a job opening, or ways to enhance their employability. [News Release]

February 12, 1997: The Clinton Administration's National Partnership Council will convene Wednesday, February 12 in Washington, DC, for a review on the effectiveness of career transition services that are helping "downsized" federal employees find employment elsewhere. [News Release]

February 11, 1997: Civil service retirees give the U.S. Office of Personnel Management an overall approval rating of 92 percent for the quality of service they receive from the agency, according to the agency's 1996 client satisfaction survey, and 98 percent say they receive their annuity payments on the date they are due. Civil service retirees and survivors have consistently given the agency high ratings for quality of service since the agency began conducting surveys in 1990. Survey results were first developed in 1991. No survey was conducted for 1992. [News Release]

February 3, 1997: U.S. Office of Personnel Management Director Jim King today announced the assignment of a Voting Rights Examiner to the State of New Mexico for the New Mexico School Board Election being held there on February 4, 1997. [News Release]

February 3, 1997: The U.S. Office of Personnel Management is proposing new rules to enhance the opportunity for federal employees to receive retention service credit during reductions in force based on their actual job performance. [News Release]
