September 18, 1995: Washington, D.C. -- Even though the federal government has been hit with hiring moratoriums, budgetary constraints, and downsizing during the last two years, with overall hiring showing a significant decrease, the percentage of jobs going to veterans remained the same or increased according to a report published by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.
