Paraguay Hits GLOBE Ground Running

Español
The GLOBE Program welcomes Paraguay, a land-locked tropical country in South America, as its 96th international partner.

US Ambassador David N. Greenlee, Paraguayan Foreign Minister Juan Esteban Aguirre, Paraguayan Vice Minister of Education Blanca Ovelar de Duarte and Paraguayan Minister-Secretary of the Environment Juan Francisco Facetti attended the October 27 signing ceremony at the Paraguayan Foreign Ministry in Asuncion, Paraguay's capital city.

To launch GLOBE nationally, Paraguayan officials will work with the WorldLinks program, the World Bank and the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Interested in a quick start for the science education program, Paraguay's Country Coordinator will attend GLOBE's week long Train-the-Trainers workshop in Buenos Aires, Argentina November 6 through 14. "Paraguay's immediate action marks a wonderful commitment to the GLOBE program," said Lyn Wigbels, GLOBE's Assistant Director of International Programs.
