A 2-year program designed to create a pool of qualified candidates for SES positions in the IRS. Participation is based on a competitive selection process which is open to IRS employees, other Federal Government employees, and those not currently employed by the Federal Government. Over the course of the program, candidates attend 16 weeks of Executive Development classes and undertake developmental assignments of at least 6 months in length. Graduates of the program are eligible to become members of the IRS Senior Executive Service (upon certification) and thereafter be placed in executive level positions within the IRS.
