Course:
Leadership Academy Target:
BLM managers. Supervisors with three years of experience are also eligible. All
candidates must have completed 40 hours of supervisory training with a focus on
human resources issues. Goal:
Leadership Academy is a 3-part course delivered over the period of a year.
Participants must enroll in all three sessions. The goal is to develop highly
skilled managers who are continuously expanding their leadership skills. Objectives:

Realities | Focus
on how to lead change in the organization based on changing conditions and political
realities. Participants will explore the political process that takes place
on Capitol Hill, at the White House, in the Department of the Interior, and in

and Commencement | Focus
on managers' continuing growth and development as leaders. It will include
training modules on the role of managers in building partnerships and coalitions,
cultural awareness, media relations, vision, and identifying future challenges. | 1
