Best Fare Guarantee Terms and Conditions
Guarantee requirements: For a claim to be valid under this guarantee, it must satisfy all Terms and Conditions and be submitted in compliance with the Claims Processing procedures. All claims must be made by midnight Central Time of the same day on which the ticket on nwa.com is purchased. Northwest Airlines must be able to verify the lower online published fare at the time of claim and that the lower fare does not exist on nwa.com. Other methods of verification (e.g., fax, phone) are not eligible. Ensure that you have the printouts / screenshots of the Itinerary Confirmation / Purchase Summary page of the other website where you found the lower fare as well as the Fare Rules and Restrictions page for the corresponding fare. These pages should appear just prior to the Purchase Confirmation page; however, no purchase is necessary. Please retain this information in case additional verification is necessary. Guarantee is valid only for lower fares found online for the exact same Northwest Airlines flight, exact itinerary, exact cabin, and exact same class of service and purchased on the same day after the original nwa.com online purchase. Fares must be in the same cabin (First, World Business Class or Economy), and for the exact same flights that carry the same fare restrictions. Tickets purchased must be United States point of sale and purchased at nwa.com only. Guarantee applies only to tickets purchased with a credit card and a United States billing address. Applies only on itineraries wholly operated and marketed by Northwest Airlines, KLM, Mesaba Aviation, Pinnacle Airlines and Compass Airlines.
Guarantee offer: Fare differences of at least $10.00 will be refunded to the credit card used for the original purchase on nwa.com. There is no limit to the amount of the refund. An Electronic Credit Voucher (ECV) for future travel in the amount of $100.00 USD will be issued for each ticket eligible under the Guarantee. The ECV may not be altered by an agent of any carrier named herein. To make reservations using your ECV receipt, visit nwa.com or call a Northwest Reservations office. ECVs are redeemable for travel commencing within one year of the ECV issue date. Travel must be completed within one year of ECV redemption date or within the validity of applicable fare rule used, whichever is most restrictive. Extensions will not be permitted. An ECV does not need to be presented at time of ticket issuance but retain your receipt for reference when booking your reservation. ECVs will not be replaced for any reason. Purchased/auctioned ECVs are subject to confiscation or voiding and travel will not be permitted. By redeeming the ECV, the individual named acknowledges the content of these Terms and Conditions and agrees to abide by them.
Claim form processing: A claim submittal web form is available on nwa.com at www.nwa.com/talk/claims.html. To submit this claim form, fill in all required fields and click 'Submit.' Someone from nwa.com Customer Service will contact you via e-mail within 24 hours. We reserve the right to deny any claims that cannot be reasonably verified, or for which you have provided incomplete information. All claims must be made by midnight Central Time on the same day after the original nwa.com ticket is purchased. Claims may not be made through any other forms of correspondence or phone number to Northwest Airlines other than the link provided above.
Guarantee exceptions: The Best Fare Guarantee does not apply to: a.) Unpublished rates that are not available to the general public. Rates not available to the general public include, but are not limited to, corporate discount fares, military fares, meeting fares, wholesaler fares, consolidator fares and other discount fares. b.) Package fares. Airfares sold as part of a travel package. c.) Fares where the carrier or itinerary details are unknown until after purchase and other discount fares. d.) Differences of less than $10.00.
