When applying for a job, what if I submit false information?

Answer:

Falsifying, or answering questions to mislead the Human Resource Specialist, is no different than providing false or misleading information on your application under a manual process.

Please note that providing false information, creating fake IDs, using a Social Security Number not assigned to you, or failing to answer all questions truthfully and completely is grounds for not considering your application, not hiring you, barring you from Federal Service, or dismissing after hiring. Falsifying a Federal job application, attempting to violate the privacy of others, or attempting to compromise this system is punishable by fine or imprisonment (USC, Title 18, Section 1001).
