What's New at ACORE?

ACORE Issues Call for Action Plans to Meet New Administration's Three-Year Goal

ACORE has directed that its Renewable Energy Technology Conference and Exhibition (RETECH 2009), taking place February 25-27, 2009 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, include sessions that address President Elect Obama’s call to double the production of renewable energy within the three years.

ACORE Campus Excellence Award Presented to U of Minnesota Morris

The first ACORE Campus Excellence Award for “Outstanding Use of Renewable Energy” was presented to the University of Minnesota Morris on Friday, Oct. 3, by Cheri Olf, ACORE’s Director of Education and manager of the Higher Education Committee (HEC).  Cheri traveled to Morris to present the award to UMM’s Vice Chancellor Lowell Rasmussen and other campus leaders before a host of state and local dignitaries at a dedication ceremony for a first-of-its kind, on-site biomass plant that will provide 80% of the campus’ heating and cooling needs.

Policy Makers and Renewable Energy Experts Packed Phase II Policy Forum on Capitol Hill Dec 4th

(Watch the webcast) More than 350 renewable energy advocates and policy makers crowded into the historic Cannon Caucus Room on Capitol Hill for a full day of discussions on advice to the incoming Administration and Congress concerning needed policy changes that will  help advance RE initiatives while growing jobs across America. Another 4,000 participants attended the session online courtesy of Verizon Communications.

REFF-West A Blow-Out Success!

Judging from the survey comments we received following REFF-West, participants believed the conference hit a new high water mark for quality, content, and networking opportunities.  The sold-out event exceeded expectations, attracting more than 380 attendees who heard 51 experts speak about renewable energy investing and emerging opportunities in the Northwest. More than a dozen firms signed up as new ACORE members. The presentations underscored how the region’s unique geographic and political demographics have combined with decades-long environmental awareness to make the Northwest a leader in renewable energy, energy efficiency, green building and cleantech.
