2008 Agricultural Yield Survey

The 2008 Agricultural Yield Survey is the only comprehensive measure of U.S. crop production. Each month, from now until harvest, NASS will ask producers to provide their best assessment of their expected crop yields. Producer cooperation ensures that NASS is able to provide timely, accurate, unbiased reporting on the current state of U.S. agricultural production. Information from the survey provides a monthly barometer of yield and production trends throughout the growing season. The results published in the USDA's Crop Production report will provide information needed to help producers, buyers, suppliers, policymakers and others make sound business decisions.
