Loss/Deletion of Digital ID CertificatesOn this page:
I accidentally deleted my Digital ID Certificate from my hard drive. What can I do to recover? Once your digital ID certificate and key files have been deleted, damaged or overwritten, there is no way to reactivate your digital ID certificate. If you have a backup copy of your digital ID certificate, you can import it back onto your PC. If you don’t have a backup, you will first need to revoke your digital ID certificate and then enroll for a new one. To revoke a digital ID certificate means to change the status of this certificate to “REVOKED” in a centrally maintained database of certificates. In other words this certificate is added to the Certificate Revocation List (CRL). The CRL is a list of digital ID certificates that have been revoked before their scheduled expiration date. To delete a digital ID certificate means to remove a copy of a digital ID certificate from a computer using browser software.
