2.0 Site Status Summary
Site consists of a uranium mill and two impoundments (approx 100 acres), ore storage pads and numerous buildings on approximately 2500 acres adjacent to Canon City and unincorporated Lincoln Park. The Cotter mill is in standby, but various decommissioning actions are underway related to soil contamination as possible source to groundwater, historic off site groundwater contamination (primarily addressed through Superfund RAP) and obsolete facilities. Cotter is performing studies to determine feasibility of reengineering of the mill.
