Air District staff interact with the public on a one-to-one basis through participation in many community, county, health and transportation fairs as well as other large-scale events around the Bay Area. An attractive display showcases the work of the Air District and provides a backdrop for our many informational materials.

Special "resource teams" made up of representatives from the public and private sectors operate at a grass roots level to aid our outreach efforts in various communities. These teams help to increase awareness of air quality problems and to engender potential solutions in the communities they serve.

We hold many community meetings on air quality topics. Most of these are informational in nature—where we ask for input on our activities and answer questions on such topics as impending regulations, clean air plans and strategies, issues of interest to a particular community.

In addition, we send informational materials out to civic and community groups, schools and libraries around the Bay Area.
