TYPES OF PROPOSALS

IISG Core Proposals (or Omnibus funds) - IISG requests proposals (RFP) for research related to the use, development, and conservation of Lake Michigan coastal resources in Illinois and Indiana. These RFPs typically occur every two years. Researchers in Illinois or Indiana are eligible to apply for funding. Funding is approximately $40,000 per year for two years.

IISG Program Development Proposals - IISG has limited discretionary funds for the initial development of promising research and outreach projects. Funding for development projects are <$10,000 for not more than one year. In order to be considered for funding, interested applicants should review the guidelines.

National Strategic Investments Proposals - The National Sea Grant Office requests proposals (RFP) for research and outreach related to the use, development, and conservation of Lake Michigan coastal resources in Illinois and Indiana. These RFPs typically occur every two years. Researchers in Illinois or Indiana are eligible to apply for funding. Funding can be >$100,000 per year for two years. When NSI proposals are requested, the RFP will be posted on the IISG home page.

PROJECT REPORTING

All researchers who receive monies from the above-mentioned funds are required to submit annual reports throughout the funding cycle and to submit a final report at the end of the cycle.  Please visit our Guidelines for Project Reporting to become acquainted with our requirements.
