The Endeavour Center, NASA Educator Resource Center is operated by Space Information Laboratories, Inc. (SIL, Inc), a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization. We plan on working with schools and teachers primarily in the California Central Coast (Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties) in California. Our main thrust will be working with students in Grades 3-8. GLOBE fits in with our broad organizational goals by training K-12 teachers in regard to applied math, science and technology that is a prime mission of the Endeavour Center. We have also identified several goals for our GLOBE partnership which are to implement regular GLOBE workshops into all Educator Launch Conferences at Vandenberg AFB, integrate GLOBE curriculum and activities into Endeavour Center youth, family and K-12 teacher training opportunities, and work to supplement with new grants to eventually have a dedicated GLOBE K-12 education trainer as part of the Endeavour Center STEM education outreach operation. In order to accomplish these objectives, we have established relationships with Lompoc Unified School District, Paso Robles Unified School District, Orcutt Unified School District, Allan Hancock College, Cal-Poly State University, San Luis Obispo, and local aerospace industry at Vandenberg AFB that the Endeavour Center has partnered with now for over a decade in regard to K-12 STEM Education Outreach.
