University of Texas at San Antonio
(joined GLOBE on November 21, 2005)
UTSA is committed to research and discovery, teaching and learning, and public service, and it embraces the multicultural traditions of South Texas, serves as a center for intellectual and creative resources, and is a catalyst for the economic development of Texas. Specifically, GLOBE fits with these university goals by enhancing the science, mathematics and technology competencies of Preservice teachers who graduate from UTSA. The majority of these students, of Hispanic backgrounds, remains in the immediate San Antonio area or South Texas, and serve to address the needs of underrepresented children.
