Hilton Pond Center will establish close relationships with area
schools--including those in the local York School District One--but
also with the Environmental Education Association of South Carolina,
North Carolina Association of Environmental Educators, Newberry
College, University of South Carolina-Spartanburg, and
USC-Greenville. Hilton Pond Center will work to ensure that schools
in its region have opportunity to participate in GLOBE, thus
enhancing students' environmental awareness and contributing to
scientific understanding of the Earth's environment. In its role as a
GLOBE Science Partner, Hilton Pond Center operates "Operation
RubyThroat: The Hummingbird Project" and will provide special teacher
training for its hummingbird protocols.
